Challenges
The client sought to introduce a bushy, natural play environment within a modern Montessori-style childcare centre in China. The key challenge was to balance a nature-rich, informal play setting with the clarity, order, and safety expectations of a contemporary Montessori learning environment, while also ensuring the design could be clearly communicated for construction pricing and delivery.

Solution
LAVS Studios was engaged at the concept design stage to translate the educational vision into a buildable landscape proposal. The design explored naturalistic play elements through layered planting, tactile materials, and soft landform, presented via 3D perspectives to help the client visualise the spatial experience. Scaled CAD drawings and a clear material palette were prepared to support the construction tender process, ensuring alignment between design intent, budget, and contractor understanding.
